Knauf Australia was purchased by the Etex Group in 2021. Etex Australia Pty Ltd is the manufacturer of Siniat products and systems in Australia.

About the Opportunity

Etex Australia now has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Technical Officer to join their team in Bundaberg, QLD.

Reporting to the Performance Manager, you will be primarily responsible for quality assurance and troubleshooting throughout the manufacturing process, as well as creating and implementing improvement initiatives. 

This opportunity is more than just Lab Testing. It is a Technical Role that requires the successful candidate to develop an understanding of Etex's processes and solve complex problems.

Core duties:

  • Conduct testing on raw materials and finished products
  • Assist with plant trials
  • Undertake research and development projects
  • Write reports and communicating findings back to the business
  • Lead and carry out continuous improvement projects
  • Lead and conduct problem-solving workshops
  • Carry out root cause analysis
  • Write, review and update operating procedures

This is a hands-on role that will see you working in the lab, on the shop floor and at the hub of the plant, helping to drive it to world-class standards!

Who is Etex Australia looking for?

Etex Australia is open to applicants with a tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Science, or a related discipline. You might be a graduate looking for your opportunity to break into the industry, or you might be someone with one or two years experience and looking for a new challenge. 

Great computer literacy and excel expertise is essential for success in this role. 

You will need to be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills.

This role will see you liaising with stakeholders at all levels and areas of the organisation. As such, it is imperative that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with all other employees.

With varying responsibilities, you will need the ability to think creatively as well as maintain enthusiasm in all aspects of the role. A willingness and desire to learn and assist others will be essential to your success!
