About the Opportunity

Etex Australia currently has an opportunity for multiple Production Operators to join their team in Bundaberg, QLD on a full-time basis. You will be working in a state-of-art manufacturing facility across a 24 hour 4-5 days per week rotating shift pattern.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely operating a range of plant and equipment to produce a quality plasterboard product.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Observing safety procedures and rules to keep yourself and your teammates safe;
  • Operating, observing and adjusting production equipment to produce a quality plasterboard product;
  • Maintaining product quality by observing standard work procedures, routine quality and process checks;
  • Maintaining production equipment including basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks;
  • Identifying improvement opportunities, providing timely and accurate feedback to the maintenance and technical teams and participating in improvement initiatives; and
  • Operating forklifts up to 7 tons.

You will undergo extensive training in achieving the above.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, strong organisational skills, proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

It is essential that you are committed to ensuring the safety of yourself and other team members and are able and willing to adhere to Safe Work Procedures and standard operating conditions.

You will take pride in your work and enjoy working in a self-managed team environment.

Most importantly, you will have a can-do attitude towards learning new things and appreciate the expectation to contribute to the continuous improvement of your team.

Forklift experience and license will be highly regarded, though not essential to be successful in this role.

Please note: Due to the physical nature of these roles, it is essential that you are able to perform some manual handling and movements including walking up and downstairs, occasional lifting, and operating precision hand tools.

About the Benefits

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a competitive hourly rate, in addition, to shift loading as applicable. You'll enjoy the challenges and responsibilities that come from these advanced operational roles, whilst still having a great leadership support structure in place.

Additionally, you'll benefit from being part of a global organisation in the booming Australian building industry that will open doors to ongoing opportunities to undergo training to obtain a variety of new technical and manufacturing skills.

This role offers a great career progression path into a supervisory/management position - in fact, both current Shift Supervisors in this plant started in the role of Production Operator themselves. If you have an interest in management or leadership in the future, this would be a great starting point.
