About the Opportunity

Etex Australia now has a full-time opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join their team in Altona, VIC.

The EHS Manager will play a critical role in change management and contributing to our vision that “we all go home safe”, building on the existing significant work and programs to bring about a step change in the organisation’s health and safety performance.

Reporting to the National WHS & Sustainability Manager and working directly with Plant and other Senior Managers, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Support the National WHS & Sustainability Manager ensuring consistency of EHS management with the national approach; supports roll out of national EHS programs including other focus projects on their site/s;
  • Completion of Monthly EHS reporting, dashboards and analysis of statistics for area of responsibility;
  • Provide EHS App and other systems support;
  • Follow through on incidents, investigations and corrective actions including reporting
  • Conduct audits supporting maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification; and
  • Roll out and compliance with standards, completion risk assessments, and development of standard work; always taking a risk based approach.

The role would require occasional interstate travel.

Who is Etex looking for?

Etex Australia is open to applicants with a variety of backgrounds from safety, operational or people management, however they must have demonstrated experience within the manufacturing or similar industry.

A relevant tertiary qualification or engineering background and ability to understand the technical aspect of the industry is desirable. Experience in delivering training is required and a formal training qualification would be well regarded.

The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with others, be experienced in change management and have the ability to work well within a dynamic and diverse team to drive and deliver results.

You'll have strong written and verbal communication skills, including solid computer literacy, and take real pride in delivering quality work, setting a positive example that inspires others to follow.
