About the Opportunity at Knauf Plasterboard

Knauf Australia currently has an opportunity for a full-time Electrical Engineer Draftsperson to join their team in Altona, VIC.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will support the plant through the resolution of operational issues, maintaining PlantPAx and Factory Talk systems, ongoing continuous improvement support, assisting and leading projects, assisting the electrical staff when required, conducting training and support for the plant electrical staff.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and Implementing continuous process improvement of production equipment;
  • Trouble shooting electrical system and PLC issues;
  • Providing advice and direction to electrical staff when required;
  • Lead key projects on the site including obtaining quotes, compiling all aspects of documentation (purchasing, applying, safety), installing and commissioning of equipment or programs;
  • Creating/updating electrical drawings;
  • Creating/Modifying HMI graphics and systems; and
  • Maintaining plant servers and associated systems.

Who is Knauf Looking For?

To be successful in this position you will have a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, with at minimum, 1 to 2 years working experience in a similar role.

Any experience in programming and process control with emphasis on Rockwell systems and CAD software will be highly regarded.

You will also need high-level communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a larger team. With great time management skills, you will be adaptable and able to react quickly to changing situations. 

Most importantly, you will have a can-do attitude towards learning new things, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work and make sound decisions under pressure.

It is essential that you are committed to ensuring the safety of yourself and other team members and are able and willing to adhere to Safe Work Procedures and standard operating conditions.
