About the Opportunity

Knauf now has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Altona, VIC on a part-time basis.

Reporting to the Performance Manager, this role is primarily responsible for completing routine testing as defined by the Quality System for both the plasterboard line and compounds.

Your key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Sampling and testing raw materials, works in progress and finished goods against specification;
  • Testing competitor products and internal trials;
  • Assisting in the conduction of plant trials;
  • Preparing and issuing technical test reports and following up in a concise and timely manner;
  • Communicating all test results of concern or out of specifications; and
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

You will be required to work approximately 20 hours per week between Monday to Friday.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering or Science student, or someone with a related background who is looking for a part-time commitment.

On-the-job training will be provided and you will be working closely alongside other members of your team. No technical experience is necessary, provided you are enthusiastic and open to learning.

You must be a strong communicator who is able to demonstrate a positive work ethic in both team environments and when working autonomously. You will need to demonstrate strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to achieve results within tight deadlines when required.
