About the Opportunity
Knauf now has a full-time opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to join their team in Beenleigh, QLD. This is a full-time role, supervising the facility's Day Shift, with occasional weekend work as required.
Supervising Knauf's busy metal manufacturing facility, you'll be responsible for ensuring the manufacturing section operates with efficiency and productivity, delivering quality product on time and in full.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Develop an environment where it is understood that 100% adherence to site and corporate standards is the foundation of our success;
- Instil a culture of high performance, where world-class safety behaviour, cleanliness, operating standards and product quality are recognised as the normal mode of operation;
- Develop the highest level of teamwork, ensuring the shift teams operate as a cohesive unit, hold each other accountable and self-manage;
- Consistent leadership of all production staff to ensure safe operation of equipment and high productivity is maintained;
- Work closely with the Engineering Department to develop and enhance autonomous operator maintenance routines to ensure assets are maintained in optimum condition;
- Conduct root cause analysis for failed processes and product related issues; and
- Daily communication with multiple stakeholders to ensure assets deliver customer needs on time in full.
Who is Knauf looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have previous leadership experience in a similar manufacturing environment, with strong people management skills and the ability to effectively coach, develop and mentor your team.
A trade qualification or a mechanical engineering background would be an advantage, though isn't essential provided you have strong problem solving skills and a genuine focus on continuous improvement, ideally with an understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
Highly flexible, able to adapt your leadership style to the needs of different team members, you'll keep calm under pressure, confident dealing with any challenges that can occur as part of a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You'll have strong written and verbal communication skills, including solid computer literacy, and take real pride in delivering quality work, setting a positive example that inspires others to follow.
